Design-Build = Construction Made Easy

The CRE industry is thinking creatively to get leases signed and the influx of vacancies filled. Tenants, on the other hand, are pushing for more accurate, holistic pricing per building while trying to minimize financial risk.

One catch-all solution has been design-build – a project delivery method in which design and construction are contracted by a single entity known as the design–builder. It is 6% less expensive on average, 36% faster, and has grown 600% since 2002, according to the DBIA. Although design-build is not new, the reliance on a trusted partner earlier in the commercial real estate process is gaining traction to maximize deal efficiency.

ARCO/Murray operates in a flexible design-build model. We have in-house architects and engineers that work together on the front-end to create a seamless, value-added experience from design to construction. Having everything under one roof combined with our local and national buying power, as well as in-house market data, helps dollarize decisions and provides more accurate costs earlier in the process.
