Over the past three decades, ARCO/Murray has built a strong foundation in transportation and logistics, becoming the #1 builder of U.S. warehouse and distribution facilities. Rail remains a critical part of the economy, generating $233B in output and moving 40% of long-distance ton-miles (AAR), and the facilities that support it require ongoing investment to meet growing demand.
ARCO’s dedicated rail team designs and constructs a wide range of facilities, including rolling stock and manufacturing plants, maintenance and repair centers, freight and intermodal facilities, operations and control centers, and commuter stations. We partner with freight operators, passenger agencies, and logistics providers nationwide to deliver new facilities and upgrade existing infrastructure, often within active environments, supporting operational efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on safety and the people who operate these environments.
ARCO/Murray takes an integrated, flexible approach to delivering rail projects. Whether leveraging our integrated engineering and subcontracting teams or partnering with outside engineers and designers, the goal is on aligning decisions early, prioritizing constructability, procurement, schedule, and site constraints to reduce rework and keep projects on time and budget.
ARCO can also serve as a single point of contact for clients operating across multiple regions. With 48 offices and experience delivering more than 6,000 projects, ARCO/Murray combines local market knowledge with the resources of a national builder, allowing clients to scale efficiently without re-establishing teams in each location. This is especially valuable in rural or operationally constrained environments, where consistency, familiarity, and the ability to build while maintaining operations are critical.
