Electric Shuffle Chicago Wins Best Retail Project for Transforming Mixed-Use Retail Space Into Immersive Entertainment Concept
CHICAGO, IL – Electric Shuffle Chicago, the immersive shuffleboard venue at 448 N. LaSalle Street, has been named Best Retail Project at the 2026 Illinois Real Estate Journal Awards.
Completed in Summer of 2025 by local design-build general contractor ARCO/Murray, Electric Shuffle Chicago transforms a long-vacant River North storefront into a 7,600-square-foot, high-tech shuffleboard destination and cocktail bar. Electric Shuffle Chicago is the third complete Electric Shuffle venue that the ARCO/Murray team has partnered with the brand to deliver.
The recognition highlights Electric Shuffle Chicago’s distinctive guest experience and its successful blend of gaming, nightlife and dining within a highly customized entertainment environment. The venue features 11 custom shuffleboard tables equipped with cameravision technology that tracks every puck and automatically keeps score. The tables support game formats for groups of up to 15 players, turning a classic bar game into an immersive, technology-enabled social experience.
Bringing Electric Shuffle Chicago to life meant translating a highly specialized guest experience into a compact urban setting. Within the first floor of a 12-story mixed-use building, ARCO/Murray worked closely with Electric Shuffle and the project team to integrate the technology, AV, lighting, millwork, electrical and mechanical systems while preserving the energy and character of the brand. The work also required careful coordination along an active LaSalle Street, from sequencing deliveries and installing the steel pergola and patio to maintaining progress through a temporary power plan. Together, the team transformed an underutilized storefront into a polished entertainment destination for River North.
