Advancing Source Water Protection Across Illinois

ARCO/Murray Project Manager Nollie Banach has been named Vice Chair of the Source Water Committee for the Illinois Section of the American Water Works Association (ISAWWA), a role that underscores both her personal commitment and ARCO’s broader focus on source water protection in Illinois and beyond.

The Source Water Committee plays a key role in protecting drinking water at its origin, before it reaches treatment and distribution systems. As Vice Chair, Nollie supports the committee’s mission by co-leading efforts to promote awareness of source water protection across Illinois, assist utilities and communities in implementing protection strategies, and encourage collaboration among regulators, municipalities, consultants, agricultural groups, and the public. She will serve alongside Committee Chair Chris Walton of EEI.

This leadership appointment is a natural extension of Nollie’s work at ARCO, where she manages large-scale projects that incorporate advanced water and wastewater infrastructure, including a $210M manufacturing campus with on-site treatment systems designed to purify and recycle 90% of process water.

ARCO/Murray’s Green Infrastructure team is actively supporting water and wastewater initiatives across a range of industrial and public-facing sectors. With deep in-house resources and a national platform, our team is positioned to help clients meet evolving environmental standards and infrastructure needs. We’re proud to contribute to the broader effort to protect water quality and build resilient systems for future generations.

Congratulations to Nollie on this well-earned recognition, and thank you for continuing to represent ARCO and our clients at the forefront of source water protection.
