ARCO/Murray Delivers New 4-Story Facility in Monroe, Connecticut with Asset Realty & Construction Group
ARCO/Murray, a leading national general contractor specializing in self-storage construction, has recently delivered another Class A facility in Connecticut.

ARCO/Murray, a leading national design-build general contractor specializing in self-storage development, has partnered with repeat client Asset Realty & Construction Group to deliver a new 4-story class A self-storage facility in Monroe, Connecticut.
Operated by Snapbox Storage, the 99,600 SF development offers 679 climate-controlled self-storage units, a spacious exterior loading dock, and a 1,000 SF leasing office designed to support daily operations and provide a convenient customer experience.
Located along Monroe Turnpike (Route 111), one of the area’s primary commercial and commuter corridors, the facility benefits from prominent roadway visibility and proximity to established retail and commercial businesses. Construction required careful coordination due to the property’s zero-lot-line parameters and immediate proximity to the neighboring major grocery retailer, ALDI, which remained fully operational throughout the course of construction. ARCO/Murray strategically administered site logistics, deliveries, and construction activities to maintain access to the adjacent retailer without disrupting store operations or customer traffic.
The 4-story development features three levels above grade and one below-grade level, allowing the project team to maximize rentable square footage within the constrained site. The facility utilizes light-gauge framing with an architectural metal panel façade. To address the site’s varying grades, ARCO/Murray coordinated wit the civil engineer to design and construct a masonry retaining wall as part of the overall site plan.
The development represents the latest project completed through ARCO/Murray’s ongoing partnership with Asset Realty & Construction Group. Peter Simmons served as Project Manager, alongside Superintendent Steve Price, who led day-to-day construction and field operations.
