Construction is officially underway on Westlake Apartments, a new 218-unit multifamily community that will bring two five-story residential buildings to Tampa’s growing Westshore area. Developed by Mainstreet Capital Partners and built by ARCO/Murray, the 249,238-square-foot project is expected to be completed in fall 2028.
The project marks another milestone in the relationship between ARCO/Murray and Mainstreet Capital Partners, which began in 2022. Working together early in the planning process, the teams evaluated design alternatives and developed cost models before establishing the project’s guaranteed maximum price. That collaborative approach helped refine the project and positioned it for a smooth transition into construction.
Westlake Apartments will feature two five-story wood-frame buildings constructed on a post-tension slab-on-grade foundation system. The community will include 218 apartment homes, a central courtyard with a resort-style pool, and surface parking, creating a modern residential community designed to serve the Tampa market.
“Our relationship with Mainstreet Capital Partners has always been built on collaboration,” said Dan Huttenmoser, Senior Project Manager at ARCO/Murray. “We’ve spent the past several years working through design options, project costs, and constructability so that when it came time to break ground, the team was ready to move forward with confidence. We’re looking forward to bringing this community to life together.”
As construction progresses, ARCO/Murray’s Florida multifamily team will continue working closely with Mainstreet Capital Partners to deliver the project, with completion anticipated in fall 2028.
