ARCO and Prime Data Centers Celebrate Data Center Campus Groundbreaking in Avondale, AZ
AVONDALE, AZ – ARCO joined Prime Data Centers and community leaders in Avondale, Arizona, to celebrate the groundbreaking of a major new data center campus in the Greater Phoenix market. The first phase includes three buildings totaling 144MW and is part of a broader five-building campus planned around 240MW of total critical capacity.
Prime’s campus spans across 66.5 acres and approximately 1.3M SF. ARCO’s scope includes major site development, underground coordination across multiple disciplines, private substation coordination, and the construction of the core and shell for the first three buildings. The fully-build campus is designed to include five hyperscale facilities, 20 data halls, an on-site substation, closed-loop cooling, layered security, office space, and other features intended to support long-term performance and adaptability.
This groundbreaking reflects the growing importance of the Phoenix region in the data center sector. As demand continues to rise for cloud capacity, AI-enabled infrastructure, and high-performance computing environments, Greater Phoenix has become an increasingly important market for long-term digital infrastructure investment due to its smooth permitting processes, state incentives, large zone parcels, and low weather risks.
